Local Area
Corralejo is the local town which has a host of restaurants, stylish cafes, bars, shops and something for all the family. The main street in the town is where you will find most of the shops, bars and restaurants. The street leads down to the Music Square where you can enjoy live music and then onto the harbour. It is approximately a 25-30 minute pleasant walk into town with several bars/shops along the way. If you don’t fancy walking back you can easily catch a taxi for approximately 5 euros.
There are two large supermarkets within a five minute walk (Mercadona and Lidl).
Turn right at end of road - go through the gates and turn left. At the end of this road turn right and follow road to roundabout. At the roundabout turn left and then left again at the next roundabout. The supermarkets are up the hill on the right hand side.
There are a wide choice of restaurants in Corralejo. Most of the options are found along Main Street and in the old town and aside from some wonderful Spanish and seafood restaurants, there are many international cuisines available, including Chinese, Italian, British and Irish.
The old town of Corralejo is centred around the old harbour, which is still a working port used by the local fisherman. There is also a modern marina, where you can take pleasure craft trips to explore the rest of the island and also the ferry to the nearby islands of Lanzarote and Los Lobos.
El Campanario is a beautiful Canarian style shopping centre in the south-east of Corralejo where you can have a drink/meal in the plaza, listen to live music and watch the world go by. There is a handicraft market every Thursday and Sunday between 10am - 2pm.
Fuerteventura is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches (152 in total) and crystal clear waters and there are many to choose from in and around the Corralejo area.
A visit to the magnificent sand dunes is a must. It is possible to walk to the dunes from the villa across the Parque Natural if you enjoy a challenge! The dunes can be reached by car within approximately five minutes and there are always plenty of places to park.

Lobos Island (or Isla de Lobos in Spanish) is a small protected island in the Canary Islands situated between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. Visiting Lobos Island on a day trip is a great, easy and cheap excursion from Corralejo.
Since 2019, access to Lobos has been limited by Fuerteventura’s government to ensure the sustainability of the natural spaces and you will need to obtain a free permit.
Acua Water Park, located in the tourist area of Corralejo, is the only water park in Fuerteventura. With more than 25,000 m2 of unlimited fun, the water park offers more than 14 attractions. It is open between April and October each year.
It was once a small fishing village and, although it has grown, El Cotillo fortunately still manages to retain much of its village feel and charm. To the north are the lovely lagoon beaches which extend all the way to the lighthouse and beyond. They provide very safe swimming and more privacy than the larger beaches to the south.
